The American slasher franchise, directed by Wes Craven (for the first four films), Tyler Gillett, and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (for the fifth and upcoming sixth film), has been credited with reviving the slasher genre in the 1990s. The genre was considered dead back then due to the massive increase in straight-to-video films and the release of multiple film sequels to popular horror franchises from the previous decades. Scream, the latest entry in the franchise, was released at the beginning of 2022 as a “legacy sequel” that continues the story from where the previous film ended and fixed itself as a starting point for younger audiences....

Now, not more than two months later and its second DLC is set to drop. Titled “Myths of the Eastern Realm”, the Second Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC is set to land on March 25 for all the available platforms and will feature an entirely new story in a unique setting based on Chinese mythology. According to Reuters, video game software sales dropped by 26 percent. Sony revealed in a recent investor call that the “lack” of exclusive PlayStation games is part of the reason for the decline. In addition, Sony pointed out that gamers are spending less time playing video games now that the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic has passed. Sony backed up its claim by reporting that PlayStation Network users dropped by 3 percent last quarter....

This move coming so quickly after the high-profile and much talked about Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard seems like a deliberate response of sorts, even though in reality these acquisition deals are handled confidentially and negotiated for long spans of time - so we’re actually dealing with a rather scary coincidence. As is always the case with these announcements, the companies in question are very happy with the deal and their top executives like publishing flowery letters about opportunity and potential and looking forward to the future and so forth....

The minute-long trailer is basically Square Enix’s way of telling everybody, “yes, Forspoken is as stylish as the most recent Final Fantasy games”. Unfortunately, while no one’s docking any style points from Forspoken, some worry that the trailer might have set up unrealistic expectations for the game. The still-available Forspoken demo for the PlayStation 5 are getting mixed reactions. Even if the developers, Luminous Productions, vowed to make improvements to Forspoken based on feedback, we doubt that a month is enough to fix the game’s issues like its massive but relatively empty open-world map and sluggish combat....

Star Citizen split its latest video into two parts. The first one gives audiences a glimpse of the ships currently in development and those that are expected to come to the game down the line.
