Since then, Halo Infinite has been synonymous with rough starts and problems. The only silver lining is that 343 is not above owning up to its mistakes.

Halo Infinite creative head, Joseph Staten, and the studio’s senior community manager, John Junyszek, both went on Twitter to reassure fans that they are aware of the “bumpy” start of Halo Infinite’s second season of content.

— Joseph Staten (@joestaten) May 5, 2022 Dubbed as Lone Wolves, Halo Infinite’s latest season should have brought the shooter’s player count back up after falling below Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Unfortunately, this is far from the case. Fans haven’t thought twice about voicing their concerns. In particular, players have issues with the challenges, the half-assed unlockable cosmetics, as well as the underwhelming new multiplayer modes, King of the Hill and Last Spartan Standing. To make matters worse, some players report that their weapons have started jamming for some reason. The only good news for Lone Wolves is that fans love the new Halo Infinite maps: Catalyst and Breaker. We’ll have to wait and see if 343 can find a way to mitigate the damage done by the newest update for Halo Infinite. In the meantime, the studio is giving away Challenge Swaps and XP Boosters to Halo Infinite players who will log in until May 16. In other news, Master Chief might no longer be the only helmet-wearing space-faring hero under Microsoft’s stable. According to recent reports, Microsoft is working on a Star Wars MMO based on The Mandalorian. Although unconfirmed, some are hoping that we’ll hear more about this Xbox-exclusive Star Wars game at the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda showcase on June 12.
