When Is The Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC Release Date?
Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC will release on March 26. However, unlike the remake of the first Crash trilogy of games, it won’t be available on Steam. Instead, Activision will release the game exclusively on Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher. With its release on the PC on the 26th, Crash Bandicoot 4 will now be available on all currently available major gaming platforms. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time released on the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series S/X on March 12, 2021, following an October 2, 2020 release date for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
What’s New in Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC?
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences alike since its initial release. Although the gameplay is clearly inspired by the original trilogy, it does introduce its fair share of new things. This includes new abilities like slowing down time, flipping gravity, and phasing in and out of existence, as well as a bunch of unique and new playable characters and modes. Crash Bandicoot 4 also lets players choose between “Modern” and “Retro” modes. This allows players to customize the difficulty and make it a bit easier. However, if we’re being honest, both of these modes do the brutal difficulty of the early games justice.
What Are The System Requirements for Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC?
Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC will support 4K resolutions and uncapped framerates. Activision states that the minimum requirements for Crash Bandicoot 4 are an Nvidia GTX 660 Ti or Radeon HD 7950 graphics card, and an Intel Core i3-4340 or an AMD FX-6300 processor with 8GB of DDR3 RAM. However, this is not enough to run the game at 60 fps or higher. Rather, it’s the bare minimum to run the game smoothly at 30 fps on “Low” graphics settings. For 60 frames per second at “High” graphics setting at 1080p resolution, you’ll need to have at least an Nvidia GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390 graphics card. Meanwhile, the processor will have to be at least an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or an Intel Core i5-2500K with at least 16GB of RAM. For higher resolutions and/or smoother frame rates, especially 4K, you’ll want a PC that’s at least on par on paper with the PlayStation 5 if not better.
What’s Next After Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC?
There’s a huge chance that Toys for Bob will work on a Crash Bandicoot 5 eventually. However, there’s also a chance that they’ll work on a Spyro sequel first. Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released in 2018 following Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy’s success in 2017 and was met with “generally favorable reviews”. Of course, there’s also the possibility that Toys for Bob will work on a sequel to Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled instead. Either way, whether it’s Crash or Spyro or an entirely new IP, fans of platformers will be keeping an eye out on Toys for Bob’s next project. On that note, more and more former exclusives to the PlayStation platform have been making their way on the PC.
