Despite the constant demand, it seems like no one has the time to do a remaster or remake of Bloodborne. As it turns out, there’s a valid reason for this. Jeff Grubb claims remastering or remaking the FromSoftware title is much easier said than done. In episode 146 of Xbox Expansion Pass, Grubb denied that anything related to Bloodborne is happening. Grubb provides two good reasons why we won’t see a Bloodborne project anytime soon. The first reason is that FromSoftware is too busy working on Elden Ring. The second reason is that only FromSoftware knows how to make out the “spaghetti” code of Bloodborne. Technically, Sony could pawn the project to Bluepoint Games. After their work on Demon’s Souls, Sony’s newly-acquired studio is more than capable of redoing Bloodborne from the ground up. But, Bluepoint working on “original content” right now. Bloodborne is also the favorite game of FromSoftware president, Hidetaka Miyazaki. We imagine Miyazaki won’t like it if Sony assigned a remaster or remake of Bloodborne to someone else. If it’s any consolation, Grubb’s statement all but confirms that more Elden Ring content is coming. Elden Ring recently became the best-selling game by FromSoftware and it continues to sell well. As a matter of fact, Cyberpunk 2077 only just supplanted Elden Ring as the most played single-player game on Steam. A new DLC could propel Elden Ring back to the top. We’re just hoping that FromSoftware doesn’t forget to circle back to Bloodborne after it’s done working on Elden Ring.
