In addition to verifying the already expansive cast of customizable characters, Firaxis also revealed at this year’s event with Geoff Keighley that other characters will be in the game as well, including Spider-Man and Venom, among others. Marvel’s Midnight Suns join Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, as well as Marvel’s Avengers and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, as some of the big-budget Marvel games to come out following the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, unlike the aforementioned titles, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will take a page out of Firaxis’ previous tactical RPG games. Instead of brawling against your enemies, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has players taking control of a wide range of comic book superheroes from Captain America to Blade and even Nico Minoru as well as Magik. On top of established characters, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will feature a fully customizable character unique to the game, The Hunter, the daughter of the main antagonist, Lilith, the mother of demons. In the comic books, the Midnight Sons were formed to combat the Mother of All Demons, Lilith. It appears that the video game adaptation will have a similar storyline. However, it is interesting that the main character is someone who is very close to the Queen of Evil. We’re sure that there’ll be a twist involving The Hunter somewhere in the game, but we prefer to let things play out and see for ourselves what that is, instead of speculating about what it could be. Having said that, fans of the occult won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the darkest Marvel video game yet. As confirmed by the Summer Game Fest trailer, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will come out on October 7. Speaking of, Marvel’s Midnight Suns isn’t the only Marvel video game coming out later this year. The formerly PlayStation-exclusive pair of games, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man Morales, are both headed to the PC in a few months’ time. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be the first to swing its way to the inclusive platform on August 12, followed by the standalone expansion sometime later.
