Windows Central has recently narrowed down the release window for the AAA title that will be exclusive to Microsoft platforms. According to the report, Bethesda is targeting to release Redfall in the first week of May. It’s not an exact date but at least it has been narrowed down to a week. If everything goes smoothly with the development, players should also expect an early access period for Redfall. There are reports that pre-orders and deluxe edition owners may have a week of early access. The early access will reportedly be similar to the one from Forza Horizon 5 where premium edition owners got to play the game a few days ahead of everyone else. The rumors regarding the May release window started when Okami Games revealed on Twitter that the game is targeting “targeting an early May release.” According to the leaker, Redfall was originally scheduled to release at the end of March but was delayed internally by six weeks.

Microsoft has reportedly set an internal target focusing on early May as the game’s launch window. If the original date of March is real, then Bethesda may have decided to move the window as the month is chock-full of big game releases. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Bayonetta Origins, and the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 will all be coming in March 2023. Interestingly, only two big titles are slated for release in May. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are coming during the month of May. Neither of those games has a similar theme or gameplay to Redfall. We will never know if the March window was ever considered as Arkane and Bethesda have yet to make an announcement about the release. However, we expect that Redfall will be released before Starfield. If the first-person shooter is coming in May, then gamers should expect the space action-adventure game to release sometime towards the end of June or early July. Hopefully, we will get an official release window announcement sometime soon. With all the new games coming this year, Bethesda really needs to give gamers an idea of when the Redfall is coming out.
