FNTASTIC recently dropped a new trailer for the upcoming survival online multiplayer game at the Consumer Electronics Show. The trailer is part of Nvidia’s DLSS 3 games showcase at the annual tradeshow. While the trailer didn’t reveal any new gameplay for The Day Before, it showed off the cool graphics of the survival game. The game looks to be visually stunning when used with Nvidia RTX graphics cards that support DLSS 3. Nvidia DLSS 3 is the newest iteration of the Deep Learning Super Sampling technology from the graphics card manufacturer. DLSS 3 is available for the newest RTX 40-series graphics cards and uses a new optical-flow frame generation technique to double the framerates for games that support the technology. Nvidia reveals the newest version of DLSS takes advantage of the Ada Lovelace generation of RTX GPUs. The new Optical Flow Accelerator of DLSS 3 is faster and more accurate than the previous versions of the technology. The Day Before is an upcoming post-apocalyptic open-world MMO survival game set in an alternate version of America overrun by zombies. Players are tasked with surviving the hordes of zombies in any way possible. The Day Before will have a third-person perspective that makes the game looks like a cross between The Division 2 and The Last of Us. The upcoming survival MMO will have a huge emphasis on large-scale exploration and crafting. Players can use vehicles to cover vast distances in the massive open world. It will also allow players to build homesteads as a base of operations. Survivalists can hunt food and craft items from the wilderness. Players can work with other players as a team to make survival a lot easier. Teaming up will make exploration faster and engaging in combat much less dangerous. Alternatively, gamers can choose to engage in PVP battles similar to Day Z to loot equipment and other valuable items. There will be colonies scattered around the map where players can sell loot and purchase equipment. These colonies serve as safe zones against zombies and other hostile parties. The game will have typical survival elements where players need to manage food, water, and clothing. It also includes dynamic weather with the occasional rain and snowstorm. Overall, The Day Before looks to be a brand-new take on the survival MMO genre with modern-day graphics. It will be interesting to see if this replaces Day Z as the to-go survival horror game.
