No, we’re not kidding - get ready to set sail across the Atlantic once again boys as Titanic is coming out in theaters next year. According to Deadline, Disney will bring back the remaster of the multi-award-winning film in cinemas on February 10, 2023. The latest premiere of one of the highest-grossing films of all time will be available in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame-rate, which should give audiences another reason to flock to theaters to watch a timeless classic. Titanic was a film that dominated headlines and the global box office for years. It also didn’t hurt that it was an awards magnet. The film, which was partly based on the real-life story of the ill-fated Maiden voyage of the Titanic, starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as Jack and Rose, respectively, star-crossed lovers who came from very different walks of life. In total, Titanic was nominated for 14 Academy Awards, winning 11 of them, which tied it with 1959’s Ben-Hur for the most Oscars won by a single film. Many years after it first enthralled audiences, Titanic is still the third-highest-grossing film of all time with a global box office take of a little over $2.1 billion. The film’s upcoming return to theaters should help add to its gargantuan total but it’s still unlikely to reach the numbers of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and 2009’s Avatar at roughly around $2.8 billion each. In the meantime, audiences can look forward to another James Cameron film, Avatar: The Way of Water, which will premiere on December 16.
