This is why people are feeling hyped about Jason Schreier confirming what Tom Henderson recently said about Grand Theft Auto 6. Now, a third party, Video Games Chronicle, has jumped in to confirm the earlier GTA 6 leaks, courtesy of both Tom Henderson and Jason Schreier.
Third Time Is the Charm
In case you missed it, a few days ago Henderson uploaded a video on YouTube claiming that he had come across information that Grand Theft Auto 6 will have an evolving Vice City map and will be released in 2024 or 2025. Since then, two more reliable sources have come out to back up Tom Henderson. The first among them is Jason Schreier. According to Jason, “everything” that Henderson said on his YouTube video matches up with all the other information that he’s heard about GTA 6. However, later on, Jason clarified that he hadn’t heard everything that Tom Henderson claims to know about GTA 6. But, he did specify that the details about the evolving Vice City map are true. Now, Video Games Chronicle has jumped in to the fray as well. According to VGC, it also has sources within the industry claiming that GTA 6 will indeed be set in an evolving Vice City map. When you consider that three credible sources are all saying the same thing about GTA 6, it’s safe to say that this has got to be one of the few leaks about GTA 6 that could be considered legit. Since his first set of GTA 6 leaks blew up, Tom Henderson has kept himself busy with other GTA-related leaks. In particular, he did a drawing that he described as a “concept of a concept”. The said sketch showed GTA 6 having a female protagonist with jetpacks (shown below). This wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve heard that GTA 6 will have the series’ first female lead. This helps give some weight to whatever Tom Henderson is saying about the game. As per Tom Henderson, his latest info dump on GTA 6 is probably his last “until at least next year”. Does this mean that Rockstar Games is going to confirm GTA 6 by then? Maybe, but who really knows? One thing we are sure of is that you shouldn’t expect Rockstar to try and take the spotlight away from GTA 5 and GTA Online anytime soon. The gap between GTA 5 and GTA 6 is already the longest in the long-running controversial franchise. However, you can’t exactly blame Rockstar for trying to cash in on GTA 5 for as long as possible. Grand Theft Auto Online has been a big success for Rockstar after its initial launch. It’s come to the point that Rockstar is going to release GTA Online as a standalone title later this year, along with the next-gen version of GTA 5. In all likelihood, the earliest that we’ll hear more about GTA 6 is after GTA 5 has already launched for the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. If the other leaks are correct, Rockstar might even make use of an in-game event in GTA Online to announce GTA 6. The next-gen GTA 5 and the standalone GTA Online are both expected to release on the Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 on November 11, 2021.
